24 BEING SELF-EMPLOYED - TOGETHER! This is what franchising offers. The opportunities offered to women in the franchise industry are as diverse as the franchise women themselves. Reason enough for the women’s network FiF-Frauen im Franchise to make this diversity visible and to present very different professional biographies relating to franchising on www. frauen-im-franchise.com. Female franchisees, franchisors, employees in the system centres and experts have their say. Their experiences are intended to inspire, show perspectives and motivate people to think about career paths and self-employment in franchising. What FiF offers women in the franchise Regular networking meetings: The Female Lunch Break takes place around every six weeks, usually digitally. An important part of this is the input from the network on topics such as self-marketing, approaching women in recruitment or even prevention and avoiding the gender pension gap. Information events for women interested in setting up a business: In the FiF Talks, female franchisees have their say on the digital panel and talk about their path to self-employment. From choosing the right franchise brand and starting out as an entrepreneur to opening a second or even third location. Prospective entrepreneurs can listen in, gather ideas and discuss the opportunities offered by franchising with the women. Supporting each other: A new initiative of the women’s network is the mentoring programme, which empowers women to become managers in franchise centres: The number of female employees in the system centres has grown noticeably in recent years. However, the number of female managers has not - it has been stagnating for years. This is where the mentoring programme, which will be launched as part of Franchise Expo 2024, comes in.
